DESCRIPTION

Departure at 5:30am from your hotel towards the Caribbean coast of San Blas. The road takes us on a scenic drive along the continental divide, dense tropical rainforest and through a river to Cartí from where a motorized canoe will take you to visit different islands. Here you will learn about how the Guna people live and witness how well they have preserved their culture, customs and traditions in spite of colonization and today’s modern civilization. At the same time you are offered the chance to purchase original handcrafted art made exclusively by the locals of San Blas. After leaving the community the canoe brings you to Aguja Island where you can enjoy swimming or snorkeling in crystal clear Caribbean water or simply relax on the beautiful white sand beach. Before you leave this island again you will be served lunch which is usually made up of seafood, rice and plantains. You will be taken to the natural pool which is a bulk of sand in the middle of the ocean and by 3:00PM you will once again board the canoe and head back to the Cartí mainland where a transport awaits you in order to return to the city. Arrive to the city around 6PM
