DESCRIPTION
Departure on a one-hour trip towards Lake Alajuela in the Chagres National Park. From here a motorized canoe will take you up the Chagres River to the indigenous community of Emberá. There are a variety of activities to participate in at the community to learn about the locals’ life style, and a visit to the river falls “La Bonita”. A typical lunch, made up of fried fish and plantain served on a banana leaf will be served at the community while a local resident gives an account of Emberá culture and history as well as introducing you to the materials and techniques used to manufacture their traditional artisan products. After lunch you will enjoy a performance of folkloric music and dance and will have the chance to purchase handcrafted indigenous art.
