Climbing Volcano Barú

Full Day Rafting Tour

Coffee Farm in Boquete

La Amistad Intern. Park

Highlights:

  • Departing from the ANAM offices towards the Quijada del Diablo to see the beautiful rainforest between the mountains and ridges of the continental divide.
  • The 3.4 km long road climbs to 2,500 meters to a beautiful waterfall.

Fishing by Islas Secas

Highlights:

  • Leaving Boquete and heading down to the coast, where a boat will take you towards the Islas Secas.
  • Once in the right area grab your fishing rod and set out to do some of the best fishing you have ever experienced, while not having to worry about a thing.
  • A fishing guide with all necessary equipment and bait will join you on the boat, as well as a licensed captain

Zip Line Canopy Tour

Highlights:

  • Leaving Boquete and discovering the beauty of the cloud forest on the volcano Barú, looking at it from a different angle.
  • The 3.5 km long system of 12 zip lines that takes you for 1 hour and 20 minutes through the treetops of the Palo Alto region is the most exciting way of exploring the area’s rich flora and fauna.
  • Feel the adrenalin rush as you glide from platform to platform at a height of 30-60 meters. The equipment and the steel cables have the capacity to resist many times the weight of a human.

Rock Climbing

Highlights:

  • Departing from Boquete to “El Gunko”, ”Maná” or “Paradiso” to a volcanic stone wall which offers routes with difficulty levels ranging from 5.3 to 5.13a (according to the Yosemite Decimal System).
  • A professional climbing instructor will give you a safety and technique briefing before you start climbing under his supervision to guarantee maximum safety at all times.
  • Enjoy this experience which is an extraordinary physical and mental challenge. Experienced rock climbers can choose to follow their own wishes without supervision

Caldera Hot Springs

Highlights:

  • Departing from Boquete to an archeological site near the village of Caldera where you can see ancient pre Colombian petro glyphs left behind by a culture that has long vanished from the area.
  • After exploring this historic site continue on to the natural hot springs located on a private farm next to the Caldera River, where you can choose to bathe in both, the volcanic thermal pools and the refreshing mountain stream

Cloud Forest

Highlights:

  • Departing towards the mountains of Boquete in a 4X4 transport to marvel at the local biodiversity. As you drive through the luxuriant mountains of Boquete you will have the chance to stop at various sites such as “My Garden is Your Garden”, “El Explorador”, a coffee farm, waterfalls, Volcan Baru National Park, the “Quetzals Trail” and volcanic mountain faces.
  • You will pass by farms located at a high altitude that give this area its reputation as Panama’s ‘bread-basket’, and make it famous for its coffee, strawberries and flowers.
  • Further you will have the choice to stop at ‘Paradise Garden Wildlife Rescue Sanctuary’, a non-profit rescue center where you can see margay, kinkajou, monkeys, exotic birds and butterflies

The Quetzal Trail

Highlights:

  • Departing from Boquete to Alto Chiquero’s Ranger Station at the entrance to Volcan Barú National Park.
  • Hiking to one of the most impressive trails of this volcanic region. In the early morning hours you are most likely to spot the famous Quetzal flying about in its natural environment while making your way uphill to “Mirador La Roca” at an altitude of 3100 MASL to take a break and have a snack at the trails highest point about half way through it.
  • Continue towards El Respingo Ranger Station in Cerro Punta where the trail ends and you will be picked up

Wetlands of Volcan Barú

Highlights:

  • In the morning you depart from the town of Volcan towards the Wetlands of Volcan Barú, the highest in Panama and fifth highest in all of Central America and Mexico.
  • Boarding a canoe and exploring the highland lagoons and the surrounding rainforest that make this area one of the most valuable but underappreciated areas of its kind.
  • As usual on the slopes of the volcano Barú you are bound to encounter a great variety of wildlife, especially birds, as you enjoy your round trip through this regions beautiful scenery

Cerro Punta

Highlights:

  • Departing from Volcan towards Finca Drácula, an orchid nursery, where over 2.200 national, international and hybrid orchid species are being cultivated, amongst them the famous “La Drácula” orchid that gives this establishment its name.
  • Finca Drácula, founded in 1969, is located at an altitude of 2.000 MASL, covers an area of 10 hectares and dedicates itself to the protection of the many endangered orchid species. Explore the gardens with their great variety of vegetation and bird species and the greenhouses which create perfect conditions for the cultivation of some of the most beautiful orchids in existence.

Horseback Trail

Highlights:

  • Departing from Boquete towards the town of Caldera where you will mount your horse to take it on a 90-minute ride through the back roads of Caldera, during which you are likely to spot iguanas and various tropical bird species.
  • After the horseback trail you will be taken to the Caldera Hot Springs for a hot bath and a refreshing swim in the cold water of the passing mountain stream

Lajas Beach & El Nancito

Highlights:

  • Departing from David on a 90-minute trip to Las Lajas Beach to take a beautiful walk on its bright grey sands on the pacific coast.
  • Resting in small huts with ocean view.
  • On your way back you will stop in the area of Nancito to see the amazing petroglyphs and its simple Museum
